"Unfortunate circumstances in life caused me to live on credit cards while on medical leave from my job. I knew it was something you should never do, but bills do not care that I had 2 major surgeries and an ailing parent to care for. The bills just kept coming. My wife is disabled and unable to work, so I am the bread winner for my household. While I had some short-term disability coming in, it just wasn't enough to pay the bills and feed my family. I was desperate. I had several credit cards that until this point, I did really well with. I stopped paying my medical bills and began running up the credit cards. I would get by at first making the minimum payments but then money was running short for that. To top it off, my ailing parent was getting worse, so when I was able to return to work, there was always emergencies where I had to leave work to get her to the hospital. I was her only child, so I didn't have brothers or sisters that could help. On top of that, I had to have another surgery, this one would only put me out of work for a month, but still it was enough where I could never catch up. A couple short months later, we got terrible news that my mother's condition was worsening and there was nothing more the doctors could do for her. She passed away in a hospice house a couple weeks later.

I wanted to lead-off my story with what happened before I proceed with my testimoniaI. There is this stigma about people with bad credit. Not everyone is frivolous and irresponsible. Sometimes circumstances happen, that we totally cannot control, and you have to do what you can do to care for your family. Being the sole provider of my home, it is really hard to have a huge savings to fall back on in times like these. It doesn't take long to fall in a hole. My wife and I always lived modestly, and I worked and still work extremely hard for everything I get. We lived in an aging singlewide mobile home, and during this time, I was unable to keep up with the maintenance on the home. Since my home was falling apart, I knew I had to do something to replace this home. I had thoughts to just sell my current home to a trailer park, and find another repo to buy, but I knew I would run into the same problems down the road. That's when I thought about getting a modular home. They are the same thing as a stick-built house, but more cost effective to build. I love the land we live on, so there was no way I was selling it. There was only one thing standing in my way, my credit. I had vantage credit scores around 525, and my mortgage credit scores were in the mid 400's.

I thought it would take years to recover my credit to where it once was, and by this rate this single wide would fall apart. That's when I ran into Sammy through a co-worker who had heard about what he was doing. He had been in a similar situation as me and was in the process of fixing his credit. He was almost done fixing his credit, that's when I asked him if he could help me. At the time, he had no intention of starting a credit repair business, but he agreed to help me with no charge, just only pay for all of the certified mail. When I had a couple small medical collections get deleted from my credit report, I told him he can help others, and be great at it. Not long after, Sammy started The Credit Dispute Center. He told me his story, and how he tried self-help books that didn't work, and then he ran into some professionals that taught him how to do Pre-Litigation credit repair. Since that time, he was able to achieve his goals, and help me achieve mine! He uncovered many debt collection violations and referred me to an attorney. I got $6,000 in total from all of the violations! which helped me pay off some debts.

This gave me the credit score I needed to start the process of buying my home! There was one more thing he recommended to boost my score to get the best interest rate, and it worked! My Vantage credit score went up to 720, and my mortgage credit score went up to 680! On October 17th, 2022, I closed on my construction loan to build an off-frame modular home that was set on December 5th, 2022! Thanks to Sammy and The Credit Dispute Center, I now own a beautiful home. I should get my CO and move in mid to late January 2023.
